FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR RATING
We are pleased to advise that Bankstown Flying School is now offering Flight Instructor Rating training.
A Flight Instructor Rating (FIR G3 Initial) provides a Commercial Pilot with another avenue to earn a living, while sharing their knowledge and experience in a training environment. An added benefit is that Flight Instructors continue to accrue flight experience hours, flight knowledge and may allow the holder to gain (through professional development) additional ratings and endorsements.
You must be the holder of a CPL-A or ATPL to undertake the flight instructor rating course. The training involves 50 hours flight training with the CFI or other senior Grade One instructors on the basic sequences associated with RPL and PPL flight training. In addition to the flying the trainee instructor will prepare all ground briefings.
Flight Instructor Rating course includes the following:
Flight Time – 50 hours
PMI Course (minimum 12 hours)
Ground Briefing covering the PPL-A
Preflight and Post flight briefings
Payments – on commencement.
CASA PMI examination fee is an additional cost.
CASA/ATO test fee is an additional cost (estimated cost $750)
Cost of the aircraft for the flight test will be charged at the rates applicable at the time (estimated flight time 1.5 hours).
Training will be carried out in a Piper PA28 Warrior
